Meet the Team
We operate as a virtual team, combining a mix on both employees and self-employed individuals, and working from different locations. We come together on SFA tasks and projects, focusing on common goals, where we use our diverse role to deliver what you, our customer, needs.
Dr Sarah Fraser – Director
Sarah is well known in healthcare for her work on how good practice spreads, how improvements can be made at practitioner level and how organisations and teams can best work together. She is in demand as a speaker and workshop presenter and has written numerous papers, articles and guides around the topics of the spread of better practice, complex systems, culture and behaviour in organisations, breakthrough collaboratives and improvement methodologies.
As an independent consultant Sarah spends much of her time working with large-scale improvement initiatives around the world. She has an international background, having been born and educated in Africa with a scholarship to Canada and has lived and worked in a number of different countries. Sarah continues this global perspective in her consultancy though is passionate also about supporting her local home-based community now in England.
At work she supports various UK National Health Service organisations and teams by providing expertise and advice on a number of specialist issues. Her project work has included setting up of the Medicines Management Services Collaborative Programme run by the National Prescribing Centre, supporting the Trent and London Regions' Collaboratives on Older People's services, facilitating the development programme for newly appointed chief executives in the NHS as well as delivering the Macmillan Cancer Relief support programme for primary care cancer leads in London and the South East. She has also supported the design and delivery of improvement projects and development programs in California, other virtual implementation programs across the USA, programs in Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark and Canada. Apart from project work, she also presents at conferences and runs interactive development sessions internationally.
Sarah has headed up her own business for over seven years. Prior to that she worked in the NHS and the UK Civil Service in a number of management and change agent roles. Her previous experience was in the private sector where she worked for 10 years for Esso UK holding a number of management and executive roles in the UK and Europe. Sarah joined Esso when she moved to the UK from Southern Africa in 1985 where she had lived and worked in a number of countries for twenty four years.
Sarah’s academic background is rich and varied and covers topics including linguistics, philosophy, social sciences, social policy, healthcare, medical education, business and others. She has a B.A., B.Sc (Hons) and her Doctorate is on the topic of Interprofessional Social Marketing (or in layman’s terms, the “spread of good practice”). Also a Certificate in Health Promotion and a Diploma in Health & Social Care. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Member of the Institute of Health Management.
Ian Fraser - Operations Manager
Ian is involved in the day to day operation of the business and is quite often the person who you speak to when you call the Aylesbury Office (please remember we are on GMT / London time!). Ian co-ordinates many activities and is the one person who will know where Sarah is and what she is planning to do on what days!
Morag Pattinson - Business & Events Manager
Morag supports us within the business in many ways and one of her key roles is managing the ordering and despatching of the training materials. This is where you may come into contact with her. For business related queries that are not accounts related, then Morag may be a good contact
Alan Weston - Bookkeeping
Alan runs his own business and we contract our bookkeeping to him. He is an essential part of our team. Our invoicing systems are electronic and you may receive communications directly from him. If you have any accounts related queries then please contact Alan directly.
